Quantitative comparison of permeability in the adhesive interface of four adhesive systems

چکیده
Since the acid-etch technique for bonding to the tooth substrate had been introduced, adhesive dentistry evolved rapidly due to two main reasons; esthetic satisfaction and minimal invasiveness. Some retrospective clinical studies have showed the favorable durability of resin restoration over 10 years. However, the majority of bonded restorations are disadvantaged by their early failure during service and they only remain in an optimum condition for a limited period of time. Generally, the immediate bonding effectiveness of current dentin adhesives seems to be favorable, but their potential degradation process is still a concern. Recent studies have identified the major factors affecting durability as the hydrolysis of interface components such as collagen and resin, and subsequent elution of the breakdown products. Currently, increased permeability of hydrophilic adhesive systems showed water uptake within the adhesive resin matrix, leading to incomplete polymerization. In the bonding process, unbound monomers or additives in the nanoleakage spaces are extracted by solvents. Following this, leachable components can be created in the aqueous environment over time. متن کاملComparison of Shear Bond Strength of Composite Restorations to Intact Enamel of Primary Incisors When Using Different Conditioners and Adhesive Systems
Introdouction: Esthetic demands of patients have led to the introduction of tooth-colored restorations wherecomposite resins are bonded to the enamel using acid etch techniques. Total etch adhesion systems are still considered as the gold standard among bonding systems. However, clinicians have a tendency to use adhesive systems with simpler application procedures. The aim of the present stu...
متن کاملMicroleakage comparison of three types of adhesive systems versus GIC-based adhesive in class V composite restorations
Background and aims: New dentin bonding agents and techniques have been developed to reduce microleakage and create higher bond strength. This in-vitro study compared the microleakage of three resin-based adhesives versus a GIC-based adhesive on class V composite restorations. Materials and Methods: Class V cavities were prepared on the buccal surfaces of 72 sound premolars, randomly assigned ...
متن کاملMicroleakage assessment of one- and two-step self-etch adhesive systems with the low shrinkage composites
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Different studies evaluating one-step self-etch (SE) adhesive systems show contradictory findings, so the aim of this study was to compare the microleakage of one-step SE adhesive systems and CLEARFIL SE BOND (that serves as the “gold-standard” SE adhesive) with low shrinkage composites. METHODS: In this in vitro study, Class V cavities with the occlusal margin in enamel and...
متن کاملInfluence of 10-MDP Adhesive System on Shear Bond Strength of Zirconia-Composite Interfaces
Introduction: This in-vitro study investigated the initial 24h bond strength between different composites and zirconia after application of four different adhesive systems. Methods: A total of 120 specimens of zirconia (InCoris, Sirona, Germany, Bernsheim) were ground with a 165 µm grit rotating diamond disc. Thirty specimens were each additionally treated with Cimara Zircon “CZ” (VOCO GmbH, ...
